Director Spike Lee Cheers on Former Villanova Stars as Knicks

After getting injured, he quickly grabbed a towel and headed straight to the locker room. After receiving stitches, he returned with a bandage on his forehead during the third quarter. By that time, the Knicks were leading 71-56, led by their former Villanova stars - Brunson, Hart, and Donte DiVincenzo. These national champions had a lot of local support, with many Knicks fans in the audience cheering them on due to their ties to the area.
Among those fans was Lee. The renowned director sported Brunson gear and an orange hat, showing his enthusiasm by cheering and applauding after every significant play by the Knicks. His energy mirrored what you might see from him when he's sitting courtside at Madison Square Garden. Despite missing key players like OG Anunoby, Julius Randle, and Mitchell Robinson, the Knicks gave Lee plenty of reasons to cheer. They built a commanding 26-point lead and solidified their position in the Eastern Conference standings, currently sitting fourth with a record of 34-22, while the 76ers lag behind at 32-23, especially struggling without Embiid, with a 6-15 record. Lee's excitement peaked when DiVincenzo made an early 3-pointer off an assist from Brunson, prompting him to jump out of his seat and pump his fist. There was also a comical moment in the first half when Brunson made a flashy behind-the-back pass to DiVincenzo on a fast break, but DiVincenzo, once dubbed the "Michael Jordan of Delaware," missed the dunk. Despite the miss, DiVincenzo contributed with 16 points and even chased off a court sweeper with his defensive hustle, turning a steal into an easy basket.
